Reiki

Reiki is a Japanese practice of gentle energy work. It was developed in the early twentieth century and has been offered quietly across the world ever since. There is nothing to do and nothing to believe. You lie down, and you rest, and the work is done around you.

What happens in a session

You stay fully clothed throughout. You lie down on a treatment couch under a soft blanket. The lights are low. The room is warm. The practitioner places her hands on or near the body in a slow series of positions. There is no manipulation, no massage, no pressure. The body is invited to settle. The breath is allowed to slow.

You may close your eyes. You may drift. You may stay awake. You may sleep. All of these are right. There is no wrong way to receive this.

Why people come

People come to Reiki for many reasons. For deep rest. For relief from the weight of stress. For the energetic flatness that sometimes settles in later midlife. For sleep that has not come easily. Sometimes simply because they need an hour where nothing is asked of them.

Sessions

Reiki, 60 minutes: £55. Your first visit includes a quiet 15 minutes for us to talk through anything that would help me support you well.

Sessions are held at Boughey House, Newport, on the last Saturday of every month and selected Wednesdays.

Reiki is offered as a complementary practice. It supports relaxation, energy balancing, and stress reduction. It is not a substitute for medical care.
