I am Tracy, the practitioner behind The Hidden Tide. This is a practice built slowly, through study and quiet work, offering Reiki and Crystal Reiki as complementary practice, in person in Newport and at a distance across the country.
I came to this work the long way round, drawn to the quiet of it, to the idea that a person can be given an hour where nothing is asked of them and something settles. That is still what the practice is for. Everything else grew from there.
How the work is done
The work here is quiet and led by the senses. You rest, and I work with steady, gentle attention, with my hands resting on or just above you. There is nothing you need to do, and nothing you need to picture. You simply notice what you notice, and let the rest be.
People find their own way into it. Some follow their breath, some drift, some feel a gentle calm settle over the hour. All of it is fine. The session meets you as you are, however you arrive.
Where the work comes from
Reiki began in Japan in the early twentieth century, in the teaching of Mikao Usui. Before the seven energy centres of the modern Western tradition were layered onto the work, Usui taught from the older Japanese map of the body: the quiet centre of the belly, the heart, and the crown. The Hidden Tide returns to these. The work begins low, in the settled centre of the body, and moves with care.
The stones
Crystal Reiki is the specialism of the practice. The stones used are chosen for their quality and their history, not for fashion. Each has a documented past, used by real people in real places across thousands of years. That history is the practitioner’s foundation. In a session, the stones do the work and the history stays quietly behind them.
The wider work
Reiki sits at the centre of what I do, but it is part of a wider interest in energy and rhythm. I work with the cycles of the moon, with crystals, and with the quiet markers of the turning year, as gentle ways of paying attention and keeping pace with yourself. I will be writing about all of this in the journal as it grows, plainly and honestly. If that is your kind of thing, it will be there to follow.
